Beauty Favourites and Lust List

This post is very much based on London Beauty Queen’s ‘Best of the Best’ Beauty Products from the last 12 months post. London Beauty Queen (LBQ) is one of my favourite beauty blogs, I like her honesty and I like that she has a bit of attitude (check out her Periscopes if you haven’t already).

So, I was obvs very interested to read her post about her faves from 2015. She posted over 400 times in the year, so she’s covered a LOT of products and she knows her stuff too…not giving you the usual “oh this is so amazing” about every single product. Read her list for yourself…and this is what I think about a few of the items she covers:

I’m already using…

The Body Shop Oils of Life – I totally agree with Hayley about the Body Shop Oils of Life range. I’ve covered it here on the blog…and I genuinely use it most days. It’s definitely my most loved oil/cream combo. If you do buy this, don’t use too much oil…like I did at first. It’s best with only a small drop or two.Body-Shop-Oils-Of-Life-3323

Sunday Riley’s Good Genes – I’ve got this and I don’t feel like I’ve used it enough to have a real opinion yet. A friend at work has it also and is a bit ‘meh’ about it. I’ll see how I get on.

I’ve bought…

After reading Hayley’s post, I popped into Superdrug to buy the Batiste Texturising Spray. I don’t usually buy Batiste as I’m a brunette and their brunette option is frankly just rubbish – I much prefer the CoLab dry shampoos. This Batiste spray doesn’t have any powder in thought, so I’ll be interested to see if it can compete with my beloved Oribe Texturising spray. I hope so because the Oribe spray is really bloody expensive (£40 a can) but nothing I’ve tried so far can measure up to it’s greatness. I’ll let you know what I think.

I want…

I’m also wanting the Caudalie Cleansing Oil which sounds perfect for first cleanse on an evening and the Estee Lauder Little Black Primer. I’ve read about it before but never really understood why I’d want it. However, Hayley mentioned that you can use it over normal mascara to stop flaking. Hallelujah! I currently love my Benefit mascara but get royally pissed off by it flaking, so this sounds great. I’ll wait till payday for both of these though…because baby, I am broke! Too much sales shopping for me!

Top Skincare Tips

Whilst you’re thinking about beauty… read this 10 New Year Skin Resolutions post by Caroline Hirons. LBQ and Hirons are the people I most respect about skincare / beauty products and this post really is a great reminder of the basic (but very important) rules. Step away from the foaming facial cleanser people!
