Bundobust: Indian Street Food in Leeds

Bundobust is a beautiful marriage between The Sparrow Bier Cafe and Prashad restaurant (click the link to see my review of that restaurant). They specialise in craft beers and tasty vegetarian Indian street food. Bundobust opened fairly recently and I’ve been a few times now, finally remembering to take a few snaps on my last visit with some friends. If you haven’t been already, get yourself over there….it’s a great place to go either as a couple or with a group of friends. It’s very relaxed and the food is delicious. I can’t comment on the craft beer because I don’t drink beer, but the procescco is good (they serve it in small tumblers).

Here’s what’s on the menu…

Bundobust Menu

We ordered the Bundo Chaat, Bhel Puri, Masala Dosa, Bataka Vada, Onion Gobi Bhaji Bhaji, Pawa Bataka, Ragda Pethis and Idli Sambhar. The dishes start to arrive and are in little paper cups that are easy to pass around in a group. My favourite dish is the Bundo Chaat, it’s a dish I’ve always had a soft spot for (Arti’s on Street Lane in Roundhay do a fab version called Samosa Chaat) and this is Bundobust’s version.

Mmm I’ve only managed to get to this place once so far and totally loved it, I’ve been dreaming about the Bhel Puri ever since!

I’m all about the Bhel Puri – that stuff is addictive! Definitely a welcome addition to Leeds!
