Cabana Leeds: Delicious Brasilian BBQ

There are lots of new eateries opening up in Leeds at the moment and Cabana Leeds is the latest to join the throng of restaurants. I’m choosing my invites quite carefully at the moment because there just isn’t enough time to go to them all…when I read “Brazilian BBQ” I thought “Oh…a bit like Fazenda?”…but I thought I might as well give it a try because the other half is a big fan of BBQ. I am SO glad I did! This is absolutely my new favourite restaurant in Leeds City Centre!

We were greeted with a multitude of different caipirinhas. They were all really good and were drank far too quickly.

The launch party was nibbles, which usually means it’s hard to get a real feel for what the food is going to be like. However, the husband and a few friends (including the very talented Becs from Lay The Table) managed to place ourselves right in the way of the waiting staff…meaning we did get a good amount to eat. To be honest, everyone I spoke to there said they were very generous with the food. Good work Cabana Leeds.

I’ll start with the not-so-good. We tried the pulled pork sliders…they weren’t for me. The pork was lovely, but the cheese in them was a bit unexpected and ‘blue’ tasting. I’m not a massive fan of blue cheese, so it was a no from me.

Next came round the Hanger Steak, Spicy Malagueta Chicken, Zingy lime and garlic chicken and Chilli chilli lamb lamb. I have real difficulty choosing my favourite from them, they were all very well cooked and beautifully spiced. I would honestly order every single one of them myself. My hubby doesn’t like lamb but really loved Cabana’s lamb….the chicken was to die for…and oh, the steak!  Yum.

It’s so rare I rave about a restaurant like this, I usually try very hard to give a balanced view. This place is crazy good though. My mouth is watering whilst I write this and I can’t wait to go back.

My dessert, we tried the Chocolate raindrop doughnuts which were tiny balls of heaven, the Nega Maluca (Brasilian Chocolate Cake) which is a rich, dense, absolutely gorgeous tasting flourless chocolate cake and the Caramel frozen yoghurt which was delicious. Again, I’d order them all myself (and will be doing next time I go).

I can confirm that when forced to combine two desserts due to you being so greedy you couldn’t hold any more, the combination was really quite lovely.

I can’t wait to go back to Cabana Leeds, I’m already trying to figure out when we’ve got a free evening to go… I swear I can smell the BBQ through these photos…………….
