Chic & Nile Rodgers, Laptops & Headaches

I’m a bit late in writing this week’s “life” post, mainly because we had a pretty awesome Sunday eating a roast dinner at Gaucho (review to come soon – it was amazing) and then going to see Chic and Nile Rodgers at the O2 Academy with mates. Really great gig, he played all his old stuff, it’s crazy when you realise how much he’s written…all the INXS stuff, then onto his more recent tunes like Get Lucky with Pharrell and his new tune with Chic ‘I’ll be there’.

So, an excellent Sunday. Friday and Saturday were great too…caught up with some fantastic friends over drinks on Friday and dinner on Saturday with a hilarious game of Cards Against Humanity. If you haven’t already played it, you should!

The rest of my week was mostly been plagued by bad tension headaches. I do suffer from bouts of them, but in the past few weeks, then this week in particular, they have been relentless. I’ve been doing my physio exercises, getting a sports massage every week, but still no let up. When it gets really bad Magnesium tablets, diclofenac and cocodamol concoctions are all that’s keeping me going. Frustrating really as I have to make sure I eat when I take those tablets, which monkeys with my eating patterns.

But enough of me moaning… apart from the terrible headaches, it was a good week. We had a fab night at Bundobust with the Dowsing & Reynolds crew… YUM! The new items on the menu are really tasty.

…we glimpsed the eclipse at work (the clouds parted at just the right time!)

…and I got a new laptop. HP Envy 17″ with enough RAM to cope with my incessant Chrome Tabs opening! I loved my ASUS Zenbook (oh so slim and lovely), but it couldn’t handle my crazy multi-tasking. Let’s see how long it takes me to kill this beast.

I used the GetTaxi app twice this week. Have you tried it? I did forget to say in last week’s post that I tried the app. It’s basically like Uber (book taxi online and pay with a card) but for black cabs. I really like the convenience of not worrying about having cash on me, you can tip the driver if they were good and rate them. If you want to try the app, use this code GTPQEYF to get £10 credit (I get credit too).

Have a fab week everyone x

Thank you so much for the lovely mention 🙂

Sounds like you’ve had a busy week, I hope your headaches pass. So jealous of your new laptop, mine is virtually dead.
