Yesterday, I had lunch at Crafthouse restaurant Leeds in the Trinity. I was there with a good friend for a belated birthday celebration and catchup.
I had the smoked salmon on a warm potato pancake with chantilly and salmon caviar for a starter and the 160g fillet steak with bearnaise sauce and triple fried chips for my main.
My friend had the pea and mint soup with spring vegetables, cottage cheese and lavender for starter and the seabass on the bone with a root vegetable mash for main.
The bread before the starters was lovely and warm and my friend’s pea and mint soup starter was heavenly. My smoked salmon really was really nice.
For the main course, if I was being picky, I’d say that the bearnaise sauce was a little salty and my fillet steak was much more medium than medium-rare.
I enjoyed the meal, however if we were paying full price (it was 50% off food in the first week) I would have been disappointed. I think only go back to the Crafthouse restaurant leeds if there was a deal on.
