As most of you know, I’m doing the 100 day spending ban (clothes, makeup and skincare) with a few other fashion and personal style bloggers and they very kindly invited me to take part in their annual frock swap too, to ease the pain of the spending ban! The idea is that we send each other an item of clothing from our wardrobe that we’re ready to part with, or something that we’re finding tricky to style. The item gets a new lease of life in another blogger’s wardrobe.
Erica looks fab in skater dresses and pastels (we’ve got the same dress from ASOS I’ve realised) and has an ace fringe… Donna too rocks a really good fringe, dresses with collars and retro prints… Charlotte also styles out the retro prints and has bloody amazing taste in shoes.
So, my first task is to find an item that I’m going to gift on.
After some time spent pondering, I decided upon this mint green pleated tulle skirt from Joy.
I’ve featured this skirt on the blog before (where it looked almost neon in the pics…but it’s not) and I absolutely love it to bits…until it’s on me.
If I’m honest, it’s probably the one personal style post on my blog that I don’t think actually fits with my style. I’m quite grungey/viv westwood/all saints and whilst I do wear pastels sometimes (I wear quite a bit of dusky pink) and as much as I really adore this skirt and the colour…I have to finally admit that it just isn’t me. Maybe it’s just the cut that doesn’t suit me. I never know what to wear on top and I just end up feeling awkward in it. Gutted.
However, I reckon the blogger I’m sending it to will pull it off perfectly! So, I’m really glad it’s going to get a new lease of life and I can’t wait to see what she’s going to do with it.
I’m going on holiday now…so my package should we waiting for me at home when I get back, I’m excited to see what I get! …that’s if my mother-in-law, who’s house sitting for us, doesn’t steal it 😉
