The Good Luck Club in the newly ‘poshed up’ Wellington Street area of Leeds invited a few of us down to check out the place recently…have you been yet? If not, think New York inspired interiors and tasty food for the people that run Socialable Folk coffee shop in Leeds.
That area is really coming alive with new bars, restaurants…crazy to think I worked on Wellington Street many years ago and it was so very different.
Stacey, one of the owners (fell in love with her a little bit), took a lot of time to tell us about the ideas behind the new place….the ingredients from local suppliers which are cooked on a charcoal grill, the desire to have a relaxed place where people could go hang out.
We had lots of sharing plates full of food to try, including chicken burgers, beef burgers, salmon fillet, steak, halloumi skewers…..and some pretty damn epic fries.
They also do breakfasts…smashed avo on toast, porridge…that kinda thing. And they take their tea and coffee pretty seriously too, with Maude Coffee and Brew Co on the menu.
Definitely go down, have a drink and order some food…. you can check out the menus and salivate over the delicious photos of food at their website.
