I’m a sucker for shoes that hurt…heels, of course….leather trainers too capture my heart. But they absolutely kill my feet.
If I’m dressing casual, I love wearing leather trainers to make the outfit feel…well…less messy. They smarten the look a little bit. A casual outfit for me will usually involve a good tee, pair of jeans…add a statement necklace and this is pretty perfect for concentrating at work, getting ‘stuff’ done.
BUT. The pain!! ARGH!! No matter how many times I wear these Viv Westwood lovelies, they hurt every damn time. Backs of the ankles. They rub the hell outta them.

…and these gorgeous black Ralph Lauren leather trainers?…oh dear god, they have wrecked the back of my ankles. Even with blisters plasters.

I’m not giving up though. I love them. Any tips for y’all would be much appreciated? Do you use blister plasters? What works???
I keep doing this with Doc Martens. I love them so much but they take some serious breaking in!

Oh my gosh, yes! I remember how hard Docs were to wear in!!
Aww such a shame because this style really suits you! I always wear new pair of shoes with plasters (heels or trainers) and it takes about a month until I can wear them pain-free. Where do you shop for shoes, do you go directly or do you have a favourite resaler? Both pairs are so lovely!

Multiple places really. I tend to buy when I see…so a lot of the time it’s just when I’m browsing. A good tip for designer resales is Vestiaire Collective. They sometimes have some great pieces x
I love both pairs Ally, I’ve not got any tips that I’ve tried myself, but I’ve read that wearing them with a pair of socks and using a hairdryer on the tight spots can help 🙂
