Hey! How are you all doing? It’s been a busy few weeks…I’ll do a ‘Life…Lately’ style post soon, I promise!
I did want to quickly mention a few things I’m looking forward to this weekend and over the next week or two though…
Live music is returning to Rounday Park in Leeds for the first time in 10 years! I’m so glad because it’s such a fab place…I remember when Robbie Williams was on there and we lived in Chapel Allerton. We didn’t actually go but I wished I had have gone now, even though I’m not a particularly big Robbie fan. The buzz around the event was amazing. Stories of big names playing at Roundhay are legendary, so I’m glad it’s getting used for that again.
OnRoundhay will be at Roundhay Park on Saturday…
James (fresh from their great set at Glasto), Primal Scream, Wolf Alive, Max Jury and The Haggis Horns (funk/soup/hiphop masters!) are all playing, so it should be a great evening.
If I’m honest though…I’m mostly going for the day time when there’s lots of food and drink experiences going on. Harvey Goldsmith (legendary producer/promoter) has partnered with coming-soon-to-Leeds John Lewis to organise lots of dining experiences, celebrity chefs, pop-up stalls and street food. Liz Cottam, semi-finalist on MasterChef this year, is hosting the cooking school…I’d definitely recommend that (she’s a mate of mine so I’m biased, but she is bloody talented!)

Kids & Family
If you’ve got kids or just fancy taking the niece or nephew down to OnRoundhay, there’s lots to do with them. The Village Green Sports Day will offer book-themed egg and spoon races and sack races. There will be prizes for kids who come dressed as a book character and arts and crafts activities to enjoy. Children will also have the opportunity to meet favourite characters from the wonderful world of Puffin World of Stories including Spot the Dog and Peter Rabbit.

Liz Cottam @ The New Ellington
Talking about Liz at OnRoundhay leads me nicely onto her residency at The New Ellington in Leeds.
She has a three month residency in their restaurant from the start of October. She will be offering private dining (starting from £25 per person), a two or three course lunch menu on Fridays (£20/£25 respectively) and a four course tasting menu Friday and Saturday evenings (£45). The menu will be changed each month.

A few of us foodie bloggers are going tonight to check out the menu. I’m predicting a MASSIVE hangover tomorrow. Liz is a lot of fun and I’m thinking tonight will involve a lot of wine! Will the hangover be as big as the one I had after Neon Cactus the other week? Oh man, I hope not!
Next week, some of the team at Dowsing & Reynolds and I are doing 100% Design in London. It’s one of the biggest interiors shows around and we’re all pretty damn excited. We’ve got a stand there showing off our industrial style lighting and we’ll get to go to lots of trend briefings and chat to lots of interior design peeps.

The unfortunate thing is that it means I’ll miss London Fashion Week. I was planning to see if I could do it this season, I’m usually too busy with work to go…but I was really hoping to do it. The invites have been coming into my inbox but I’ve had to decline. Boooooo. Ah well. I’ll definitely stream the shows I’m most interested in seeing.
If you’re into interiors and around in London next Saturday (24th September), pop along to Olympia (it’s the day it’s open to the public)…and come say hello at 100% Design!
Have a lovely weekend everyone! x
