It was fantastic to see Roundhay Park buzzing with music once again for the OnRoundhay Festival. The first time in 10 years that such a big live music event has been held there! Way overdue. I talked a little in a previous post about the deets behind the festival…and here’s what actually happened!
One of the very first things I did when I got to OnRoundhay was get some food. The hard bit was deciding what I wanted! Lots of Leeds’ best eateries and street food offerings had stalls, making it a very difficult decision!
…and if all that wasn’t going to make you hungry, then the talks by Yorkshire’s finest chefs would!
I met up with Lucinda from The Fashion Fictionary and Eleanor from Champagne Lifestyle…Lucinda is a proper charmer and managed to get me a wristband for the John Lewis VIP bit (I had a normal ‘Press’ band which up till I saw these guys thought was pretty damn cool on it’s own!…turns out there was a whole new level of VIP!).
Lots of lovely instagrammable corners inside the John Lewis bit and we did enjoy the Fentimans Gin & Tonics…
Thankfully the lovely lady on the BBQ made me the biggest halloumi wrap I’ve ever seen to soak it all up! Hey, what can I say? I was hungry again! Actually, just writing this is making me want halloumi so bad!
We made sure we got some festival makeup on to look the part…
After we were suitably glammed up, we headed back out to the festival and spotted Masterchef’s Liz Cottam just about to begin her cookery masterclass in the John Lewis Cookery School (check out my recent review of her new residency at The New Ellington in Leeds)…
Families had lots to keep the kids occupied with the Penguin World of Stories…
…OK, maybe not just kids.
Lucinda was style spotting for Leeds Confidential…
Some of us were looking particularly fabulous…. (Gabby)
I had to go before Primal Scream and James came on to go a friend’s birthday party…but still had a really fun day. Thanks for a great festival OnRoundhay! Hopefully the first of many!
