Jimmy Choo step into social media with Foursquare Treasure Hunt

Oh, how I love shoes! I actually got married in a pair of gorgeous Jimmy Choos. I haven’t worn them since for fear that I’ll ruin them…oh yes, and there is also the fact that I can’t actually walk for long in them! My shoe empire has been growing steadily lately and my current ‘want’ is a pair of Manolo Blahniks. Soon, soon.

Jimmy Choo have decided to step up onto the social media stage and take a turn. It’s their first social media campaign and have gone with geo-location new kid on the block, Foursquare.

Despite my loathing of Foursquare (simply because I have to wade through it’s inane “so and so has checked into blah blah” messages on Twitter / Facebook), I agree with thisisbd that it seems like good move for Jimmy Choo. Regardless of how many people enter, it’s PR fodder.

The idea is pretty simple, a pair of Jimmy Choo’s new trainers will check into some of the most exclusive and fashionable places in London, if you  can track them down and catch them while still checked in at a venue, then they are yours.

Obviously, the campaign is London based. The marketing people at Jimmy Choo will no doubt think you have 3 feet and 14 toes if from outside London and definitely not stylish enough to wear a pair of their shoes. Always disappointing when brands do this.
